Austin Smith is a criminal defense attorney at MayesTelles PLLC. An Arizona native, Austin prides himself on fighting zealously for his clients to secure the best possible outcome and to protect his clients' constitutional rights.
Austin graduated from Arizona's top law school, the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, and has been fully committed to criminal defense since the outset of his legal career. While in law school, Austin earned a variety of distinctions and honors, including receiving a Trial Advocacy Certificate and being named a William H. Pedrick Scholar. Prior to his legal career, Austin studied Finance at Arizona State University where he graduated summa cum laude in only three years.
Prior to joining as a full-time attorney, Austin worked as a law clerk at MayesTelles while in law school and post-bar exam. During his tenure as a law clerk, Austin immersed himself in a diverse variety of criminal cases, assisting in misdemeanors, complex felonies, and juvenile matters. Austin also handled post-conviction relief cases and drafted motions which resulted in case dismissals, including notable instances such as DUIs and wrongful accusations.
Outside of the courtroom, Austin enjoys playing basketball, golfing, and hiking. With a wealth of legal knowledge and unwavering dedication, Austin is committed to providing an invaluable level of representation to every client he serves.
