Alejandro is a personal injury and appellate attorney at MayesTelles PLLC. He has previously represented individuals and corporations before state and federal trial courts, the Arizona Court of Appeals, the Arizona Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
After graduating with honors from law school, Alejandro served as a judicial law clerk to both the Honorable Maurice Portley of the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Honorable Ann A. Scott Timmer of the Arizona Supreme Court. During both clerkships, Alejandro polished his appellate skills while he worked under the training and supervision of two experienced and respected jurists.
Alejandro then joined the Maricopa County Office of the Public Defender as a deputy public defender, where he defended hundreds of indigent individuals in the Maricopa County Superior Court and in several cases obtained dismissals. Alejandro subsequently joined the largest insurance defense law firm in Arizona as an appellate attorney. There, he successfully represented his civil clients across multiple appellate jurisdictions, including the Arizona Supreme Court and United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and obtained the reversal of all felony convictions and resulting sentences on behalf of one of his individual clients in the Arizona Court of Appeals.
Finally, immediately prior to returning to MayesTelles (where Alejandro began his legal career in the private sector nearly a decade ago as a summer intern), Alejandro worked as a commercial litigator and appellate attorney at Lewis Roca, a national Am Law 200 law firm, where he represented clients in contract, construction, administrative, insurance, and other litigation-related matters.
Alejandro’s wide range of legal experience has made him an accomplished and effective advocate on behalf of his clients.
Outside of work, Alejandro likes to spend his free time with his wife, son, and dog. He is an F.C. Barcelona football fan, and enjoys watching national and European club team soccer tournaments.
