Driving on a Suspended Driver’s License
If your driver’s license has been suspended, it is important to avoid driving in order to prevent further charges. One of the more common problems after someone has their driver’s license suspended is the continuation of driving. If someone is caught doing this, they face further penalties including losing their vehicle to impound. If someone is caught driving under the influence while on a suspended driver’s license, the penalties can be harsh.
Arizona’s subsection D of 28-1383 states that a suspended driver’s license permits a driver from:
- Commuting, suspending, pardoning a sentence
- Becoming eligible for probation or release until serving at least 4 months in prison
A driver’s license suspension can occur for a number of reasons not limited to a DUI conviction. For instance, if you are pulled over and refuse to consent to the breathalyzer test, it could result in an automatic driver’s license suspension. Our team will be able to help you understand the consequences.
